UP5_6 Armchair, Serie Up 2000, design by Gaetano Pesce

Up5_6 armchair is imagined as a floating balloon, along with also UP-shaped clouds with rabbits bouncing on it and playing lanterns. The rising of Up balloon and clouds is trying to imply the Chinese blessing of “蒸蒸日上” (pronouns as “zheng zheng ri shang” and direct translation is “steam goes up every day”) which means becoming more prosperous every day.

Tobi-Ishi Table, design by Barber Osgerby

Inspired by the miniature landscape, Illustrator imagined the Tobi-Ishi as a “bridge” where rabbits gather and celebrate the festive season. At the same time, the illustrators want to represent Tobi Ishi as a bridge which connects the past and future. As the New Year's rabbit passes the bridge from one side to the other, they are ready to welcome a blossoming new year like the fireworks at the back.

Husk Armchair, design by Patricia Urquiola

Husks are re-imagined as Chinese lanterns, while rabbits are tying knots on them. Knots act as good-luck charms for Chinese celebration. a symbol of light for emotional connection and common blessing. It is a wish for a peaceful and prosperous new year with the people around you.
